Thank you!
First of all I would like to say a BIG thank you for all your comments on yesterday's post - my first as a Creative Studio's DT member for Sam Poole and a special thanks to those of you who hopped over to Sam's site and also left a comment there, it really meant a lot to me.
I have been busy with these new stamps by Sam and there will be one every Tuesday on here and on Sam's site for the coming weeks. They are lovely stamps to work with and really got me in 'guy' cards mode, which is unheard of!!!
Talking of guy cards I have another one today...
This is another 7x7 card and was very quick and easy: for the base layer I used some 'Happy Birthday' paper from stash, which I dusted at the edges with Old Paper distress ink.
I matted and layered dark brown card on to white and used Cosmic Pearl PVA to create the little dots around the edge of the brown card.
To create the clock layer, I used a '"That Special Touch' mask, which I embossed and inked with the same distress ink. I then wrapped around with string and added a clock face embellishment.
To finish I stamped the greeting, cut to a flag shape and fixed with a brad. I was lucky to have a piece of ribbon in my offcuts box, that matched the rest of the card beautifully!
My day off today, but not much crafting...I am off to Chipping Sodbury to take my office volunteers out for a 'thank you' lunch in a local restaurant. I'm going to walk there and will be heading off slightly earlier than I need so that I can call in to my friend Amy's lovely gift and craft shop as I haven't had a mooch around in ages!
The Bank Holiday totally threw me as far as days are concerned, so I didn't get my desk photographed for WOYWW again this week!
Love and Hugs...and thank you so much for your visit,
Carole X

Fabulous male card Carole. Love the clock embellishment. I made so many male cards last year that they no longer hold me in terror - still prefer making female cards though. Hugs Christine xx
ReplyDeleteOh wow this is a gorgeous masculine birthday creation. Lol, I know all about the clock ticking, being my 50th Birthday today.

Your card is great Carole, and your last posts. Sorry my comments are sporadic, I am having trouble with leaving them on my IPad and have to have a computer session every now and then. I hope you had a good time in Chipping Sodbury, a lovely place. Hope you found some treasures! Hugs Barb xx

ReplyDeleteHugs to you Sue Pxxx
Hey Carole, there has been so many fun makes on your blog this week - I especially love the aperture card from Saturday. Sorry for my tardy visit this week - with Lemon here, I haven't had much time at my computer. 7x7 cards are intriguing me and now with my new scoring board, I might give this a whirl. Hope you had a good lunch. Cx
