Sympathy cards - Wednesday 4th March 2015

Hello Friends,

Thank you for all you welcome back messages, they were all very welcome indeed. I went back to work yesterday, feeling much better, no longer sneezing, just still coughing, but everyone else in the library seemed to be as well, so I was in good company.

I also had some sad news Monday evening, because the Mother of one of my office volunteers passed away suddenly at the weekend. She was in her 90's but still very independent and sprightly so it was still a shock.

Today I've got two sympathy cards to show you, one I made to send from me and the other from the other volunteers.

For the first card I used a leaf Spellbinders M-Bossability as the base white layer. The flower die cut isn't from one of my dies, I did a die-cut swap with my blog friend Carole, recently and this was one of the lovely die cuts she sent to me. I typed and printed the sentiment.

I had the idea for the second card from the Stampscape   stamps I've been playing with since having them for Christmas: the tiny trees are part of a Stampscape stamp and the larger tree is by Claritystamps.

I used Adirondack inks: Purple Twilght, Butterscotch,Denim, Sail Boat Blue, Black, Shell Pink and Ripe Persimmon distress ink. The image is simply matted and layered on to black card, with a white base.

The sentiment is a stamp by Creative Expressions.

Thank you so much for stopping by, I really appreciate it!

Love and Hugs,
Carole X

  1. Wow, talk about two completely opposite cards! These are both gorgeous Carole! The first one is so crisp and debonair and the second one is like a piece of art you see hanging in the lobby of a ritzy building! Well done on both accounts! hugs :)

  2. Carole, It is always sad to hear that some passed but I these cards will certainly help them during their grieving process. Both are gorgeous but that first card is just Stunning in my eyes. There is nothing more classy than black and white. Enjoy your day.
