Feed the Birds - Sunday 27th April 2014

Good afternoon Friends,

I hope you are all having a happy Sunday..a quick post from me today, with my latest Design Team card for Nicecrane Designs.

Have you got any crafting done this weekend? Weekends are usually the time I don't get much crafting time because we are both home and there are places to go and things to do! However, I did get a bit of time this weekend...yesterday I planned my first DT projects for Sam Poole. I'm going to work on them tomorrow and that's all I can say at the moment!

I also had a play with our next planned workshop project..again just  a  play, nothing made as yet. This afternoon there were a few cards I had to make for other people and then I decided to make a 'quick' card with some Lavinia stamps I bought at Ally Pally..well I have no idea where Mr Mojo had gone today, but I wasted about two hours and came away with nothing! Hey-ho! It happens.

Anyway, to today's card: the image is black and white but heavily shaded, so I just decided to give her a brightly coloured dress and hair, but hold back on the rest of the girl. I used drawing inks to colour. I stamped her twice and layered the image to give some depth.

I backed the card with paper from Graphic 45's ' Secret Garden' and I die cut the image and layer using Spellbinders Resplendent Rectangles and Romantic Rectangles, inked at the edges with Tea Dye distress inks. I used Spellbinders Bitty Blossoms to create the flowers.

The sentiment was amongst my stash!

Nicecrane has many many digital images that are both pre-coloured and digital stamps...pop over and have a browse!   http://nicecranedesigns.com

That's all for today... thanks so much for stopping by!

Heidi - Sunday 18th August

Hello Friends,

Today is my latest design team card for Nicecrane Designs, a really sweet vintage drawing of Heidi by Jessie Wilcox. The illustrations are available pre-coloured or as digi stamps and I have chosen the latter. You can view and purchase these and so many other beautiful Vintage designs here and Ignacio's Nicecrane blog here

Well making this card brought back childhood memories of reading the book and watching the TV series, which I remember really well for some reason..probably the goats, all my childhood TV memories seem to revolve around series where animals featured...Black Beauty, White Horses, Belle and Sebastian (all of which I later discovered where old even when I watched them!) and my favourite of all, Follyfoot!

Anyway, I digress...

I chose a shaped card with an open pattern around the sides and top, which I decided to thread some gingham ribbon through. I coloured the image with promarkers and die cut using Spellbinders Labels 17. I used the little flowers from the window box die (by Tonic) that I have been using lately, die cut some leaves and cut some grass freehand, then I coloured them all with promarkers and brushed the edges with distress inks. I also die cut and punched  some extra flowers. To finish off I added some little gingham buttons.

Thank you so  much for stopping by!
 Love and crafty hugs,

Nicecrane DT Card - Sunday 2nd June

Good Morning Friends,

I'm hoping you've been able to enjoy some sunshine so far this weekend - long may it continue!

Today's card is the first of two for Nicecrane Designs, a fabulous source for Vintage images and digital stamps of all types. Visit the shop from this link to have a look for yourselves   http://nicecranedesigns.com

This lovely bird image is from the Vintage Spring time set, which includes both pre-coloured  images and digital stamps.

I coloured the bird, keeping as faithful to the original coloured image as possible and using drawing inks. If you enjoy colouring, these images are beautiful and if you are new to colouring they are perfect, because all the shading is there for you, making it very easy, whether you used your markers (such as my preferred pens, Promarkers), watercolours, pencils etc.

The card is 8x8 and the base layer paper is from Graphic 45 (Secret Garden). I die cut the image using Spellbinders Labels 17 and inked the edges with bundled sage distress ink.  I then mounted the die cut on to kraft card and inked it with age mahogany distress ink.  Then I added a strip of paper (again Graphic 45) across the centre and added lace and vintage silk crushed ribbon tied in a double bow.

The roses were made using cream paper die cut using the largest of Spellbinders Bitty Blossoms, inked using aged mahogany.

I have to say that this image was a joy to colour, I love to colour animals and birds, so this was a great project for me. Check back in a few days and I will have a completely different project, with a little freebie for you!

Thanks for stopping by!

Love and Hugs,
