Good morning Friends,
Challenge success and a design team project...
Well it looks like Summer has finally arrived! What a scorcher yesterday! Well when I entered blogland last night to visit your blogs and I had two lovely surprises..first I have another new follower, welcome Viera and thank you so much for choosing to follow me!
..and then I saw that I had been chosen in the top 5 for my Lavender & Lace entry in Allsorts Challenge blog this week...it was the first time I had entered this challenge, although I had been meaning to for ages so I was thrilled! I think it's probably the card I've been most pleased with in a while.

Today is time for my Design Team post for Emergency Crafters and the theme for this months new challenge is summer days and holidays. I decided to make a wall hanging this time...I made a very similar one before and thought I had posted it, but someone saw it and asked to buy it, so it must have been before I posted it...
I used an MDF art part plaque base, covered it with stripey paper and gave it a coat of modge podge to shine and seal. The beach hut stamp is by Michael Powell and is coloured with promarkers. I matted and layered this on blue and white card and added some sparkle netting as the base layer. I had some striped material which was a good match for the paper, so I cut this into bunting and secured with bakers twine. To finish I added some starfish and craft rope to hang.
Before I go today, I thought you might like to see this photo of one of Bristol's Gromits. You may know that this year Bristol has placed Gromits decorated by celebrities, schoolchildren and other invited peopleall over the city and they are a colourful bunch! Last year we had Gorillas...I don't live in the City (though I was born there) but 13 miles outside and in a neighbouring County, we still have a couple of Gromits of our own...this one was decorated by the children of a local Primary School and is just yards away from my office in our local library...when we get to go into Bristol and I find some more, I will post photos...
Have a super sunny Saturday!
