Good Morning Friends!
I hope the weather where you are was as good as it was here yesterday..I actually felt guilty to be spending most of my day off inside crafting - but there is always something to do! I did manage to get outside a few times for a cuppa with the hens, who had a lovely day!
Thank you for your comments on my Zentangled Cockerel; I really had never attempted this type of doodle-art before and I found I didn't really have to concentrate. I looked in my book for some examples of patterns and practiced on a few flowers I had sketched and then I just doodled on the image I'd traced from the stencil. Quite relaxing!
Today's card is a Diamond Wedding card I made recently as a commission. I've actually made the decision to take a 'sabbatical' from commissions until after our holiday. I still have quite a lot to make, plus preparing for workshops, Design Team projects, an Autumn craft fair and of course, it's that time of year when we have to start thinking about..Christmas! (I know some of you have already). I'd also like some time to make some altered art and mixed media projects that are sitting in a box in my craft room! The commission cards take a lot of time and I really felt I needed some time away from them.
I used Spellbinders Grand Stately Circles, leaving the smallest one in the die whilst using a mask to emboss a floral pattern on the top, I did the same with the classic heart die. I finished off with some little Bittly Blossoms, ribbon and pins from stash.
A short post today and sorry the photo isn't great, I left it until the last minute before I had to pack it up for delivery and was battling with light and shadows.
Hope you all have a very enjoyable Saturday!
Love and Hugs,
Carole X
Hi Carole, I do love white on white cards and this one is gorgeous, I love how you layered up the dies and the flowers are so beautiful. The bow and pins are beautiful too. I too have taken a sabbatical from commission cards, they do take so much time. Hope you (and the chickens) enjoy the lovely weather we are supposed to have in the next week. Hugs, Anne x
ReplyDeleteHi Carole,
ReplyDeletesuperb diamond wedding card. They must have been sooooooooooo pleased with it. I do love those SB dies I use them a lot as you may have noticed. I am just trying to design and 80th Birthday card for my friend, who's birthday is in the middle of the month. Not sure what colours to use.
I am lucky I don't get many commissions as not many peeps know about me. Still I keep quite busy with my families birthdays and such. That's the problem with having a big family.lol.
Have a wonderful crafty day.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L.
Oh Carole (oops sounds like a song) well I would like to sing your praises with this card, it is gorgeous. The dies used create a beautiful card. I love the Grand Stately circles.
