Remembering our Heroes...Sunday 10th November

Dear Friends,

Well looking around your blogs, it seems some of you had fab times at the NEC this weekend - and lots of new stash to play with!

Today I am posting  my favourite card from last year, so I hope those of you who have been following me a while and remember it, won't mind. It's today that Remembrance services are held throughout the Country and I do like to make a card in memory of our heroes who fought for our futures in the two World Wars and continue to serve in conflicts today. However, this year I just didn't get one made, so as I would like to share with you once more, my poppy card..

The card is long gone; I took it to a craft fair October last year and sold it for more than I have ever asked for a card. The truth is that I priced it so high because I thought no one would buy it, but they did and within minutes of the doors opening. I should never have taken it along! But never mind!

Thank you for stopping by,
Love ad hugs,
Carole X

  1. Good morning Carole

A very beautiful card .. .. very fitting for today .. .. I am not surprised it sold because it is very beautiful. Someone clearly appreciated the time and effort you put into it.

I love the ribbon feature too!

Thanks for your comment earlier. I think Ally Pally is nicer than the NEC. I have only been the once but found it a much friendlier and warmer atmosphere.

Hope you are having a lovely weekend.

    Love Jules xx

  2. I remember this gorgeous card Carole. I wouldn't want it to have gone either. I have cards in my box that no way will I send to anybody or give them away. How stupid is that! I was moved to tears last night watching the Festival of Remembrance from The Royal Albert Hall, and I noticed the Countess of Wessex had tears streaming down her face at one point. Hugs Christine xx

  3. Hi Carole,
I too remember this superb creation. I too would not have wanted to part with it, but at some point we must make way for our new creations otherwise we would have them stacking up all four walls. lol. I love your sentiment on the card it's just right for the occasion.
    Have a wonderful weekend.
    Lots of love. Jenny L.
