WOYWW 194 - Wednesday 20th February

Hello blog friends and WOYWWers!

It's that day of the week again when we share what's on our desks...to find out what this is all all about visit Julia at Stamping Ground for all the deers!

I'm back to messy me at the moment..I've spent all morning getting packs ready for our workshop tomorrow. I also spent much longer than intended making 'just one more' example card. I've been so busy lately, plus trying (and not succeeding) to make cards for a craft fair in 2 weeks time, that I had been putting it to one side...so I made it and then disaster! You know sometimes when it's all finished, you decide to add one more element? Don't..just don't!!! I decided to cut a final strip of patterned paper for a trim and as I couldn't find my ultra thin double sided tape, I picked up my cosmic shimmer..it's a fairly new pot and ever since they changed the lid I find it gets bunged up really easily.

No kidding, I had used it five minutes before, but when I squeezed it the lid shot off and a load of glue shot out all over my card....grrrrrrr!

Anyway, I do try to keep this short:

So on my desk is a commission card with a feminine steampunk theme that I just finished, a couple of examples of the cards for our workshop tomorrow and a box filled with papers and dies, also for our workshop.

Now I'm off to calm down from my glue episode by watching the wonderful Linelle Harlow  from Dreamweavers on C&C whilst I try and fix that card!

Happy WOYWW day and thanks for stopping by!

  1. Top of the Mornin to ya Carol!

Love your twist on the steampunk card! I have not seen the flowerpot card in a long time, it was pretty then and it's wonderful now!

I pray to find a way or make a way to fix the glue accident...funny how sometimes those accidents lead us to new techniques!

  2. Oh nooo! What a disaster - your cards are beautiful though. I don't prescribe to the less is more school of thought and just adding 'one last thing' is often my downfall! Happy week! Kim #70

  4. It doesn't sound like it can be turned into a happy accident either! How annoying... but on a positive note I love your feminine steampunk, that has turned out really well, love it. Love the sample card too, the flowers are beautiful. Happy WOYWW, Anne x #37

  8. Great cards Carole. The flower pots are great. I know what you mean about the glue pot end bunging up. It drives me mad. I had the same problem on a brand new bottle, used once. I gave it a huge squeeze and at least half of the contents shot across the room, just missing the edge of my desk but shooting down the roller shutter door on the cupboard directly opposite. Luckily for me it was actually closed at the time but it is almost always open. I let out an almighty screech and John came flying in to see what had happened. Such a waste of glue!! I now keep a needle on my desk to poke the end. The joys of crafting! Christine xx

  10. a tip for your cosmic shimmer glue if you have one of the old bottles left keep the lid as this will screw on to the new bottles they have bought out and so your problem is over.
Loving those flowers on your desk
Wishing you a really great WOYWW

  12. Hi Carole, Interesting reading your post as the same thing happened in one of my workshops with the new bottles. I noticed when I went in to do this weeks workshop they had a new delivery and were back to the old style so maybe it wasnt just us. Love your commision card. Hugs Mo x 41

  13. So sorry to hear about the glue mess, that's a shame. I'm known for always adding an element after I've finished, I wish I had the foresight to do it all in order! Thank you so much for visiting my blog today, waving hi from the hills of North Carolina ♥

  14. Good morning Carol. Loving these cute little cards.
I have also had that problem with Cosmic Glue. It is the best IMO but I have been seriously looking for an alternative,
If I hear they have gone back to the old style top I will stick. Till then I will keep looking.
    Have a Great Day

  15. Hi Carole,
fabulous working desk. Lots ans lots of craft has been going on there. Love the flowers and pots for your clas, and the colour on that steampunk card is amazing.
So sorry about your glue episode. I refill my cosmic glue pot from a rather big one I bought quite cheaply at my local
craft shop. It works just as great as cosmic shimmer.
If you look back on creativeharmony blog Linda tells you where to buy one of these glues on the internet.
    Have a wonderful crafty day.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L.

  17. Beautiful cards Carole, the steampunk one looks gorgeous, would love to a close up of it! I had a similar problem but with the black pearl glue( I use it like Sue, to make my own pearls, but as I squeezed the glue was coming out of the lid top below the nozzle. I have had to cover it with masking tape, but it still seeps through!xx
