Emergency Crafters DT - Monday 6th August

Hello Blog Friends!

The new challenge over at Emergency Crafters is based on inspiration taken from a photo....hop over to take a look,it is a  beautiful photo of the most colourful flowers and mountains. I decided on a scrapbook page layout this time and stayed with the bright colours of the flowers. First of all I stamped around the edge of an 8x8 page using the Dandelion Wishes stamp from Creative Expressions. I used Milled Lavender distress ink to give a very faded effect and then shaded the edges with Antique Linen.Using the Antique Linen again, I stamped a script in the centre of the page and tore some cream coredinations paper and added a doily heart, all of these are backdrops for the photos.

I then  took some photos of flowers in our garden and built a floral colour montage around them using flowers from different media - paper, felt (flower made from Spellbinders Spiral Blossom One), ribbon and silk. Then I stamped a sentiment and a butterfly and finally added a Tim Holz memo pin to hold one of the photos.

Thanks for stopping by, to see what the other DT members have been doing and to enter the challenge where the prize this time is a lovely set of Promarkers...

  1. Well here you go again Carole putting me on a horse and not letting me ride!! lol - I have just made the photo of your article bigger hoping to read it but it's just too small. Oh Well .... anyway this is another gorgeous layout - love the 8 x 8 page, really flowery and summer breezy.

    1. Aha! It is about 4 pages and 2000 words, I just grabbed it quickly and photographed it this morning...it was my first piece of writing and I was really nervous trying to get the actors to talk to me, but all but the star, Albert Finney obliged and were lovely, I tended to stick to reviews after though! 2. This is so gorgeous Carole. The flowers from your garden are lovely. My garden is looking very sorry for itself. We live in a very rural spot totally surrounded by farm land and have been plagued with rabbits this year. There are more than I have ever seen! Over the years I have kind of learned what they will leave alone and concentrated on those plants but this year - oh boy! They are having a go at everything in sight! I have had lilies in a huge pot for many many years but this year the pesky little blighters have had a real go at them! It's just as well my vegetable garden is enclosed and totally rabbit-proof and deer-proof! Thank you for visiting my blog - only sorry it was a bit early and I wasn't there!!!!! love from Christine x

    1. Lol...having a couple of hens we don't stand a chance with veg, but they seem to leave the flowers alone...yes we have farmland a short walk away, but the rabbits don't venture as far as us thankfully! I'll be back to your blog when you're there! Carole Z X
