Workshop news! Friday 13th April

Hi Bloggers,

I am actually writing this at almost midnight on the 12th, for posting in the morning....tonight, I joined my friend Amy, who co-owns a beautiful local gift and craft shop in delivering our first card-making workshop and boy was it a really fab evening.

Tonight we concentrated on using alcohol inks, there were about 10 ladies and we each worked with a group. I hope they all enjoyed it, I'm pretty sure they did. I wasn't nervous, which really surprised me and I enjoyed every minute, realising this is something I really enjoy.

It has been so nice to work with Amy as well and I think we made a super team...long may it last!

These are the cards our groups worked on tonight...
This one was Amy's design and the one below was mine...it was lovely showing  the ladies how to use the alcohol inks and to heat emboss, which some of them had never tried. Next month we will be stamping and colouring with Promarkers, so I'm really looking forward to that.

I won't be around for a few days, Tom and I are off to London for the weekend and Saturday I am going to the stamping and scrapbooking show at Alexandra Palace...will report back on Monday, with some photos, I hope!

Bye for now and have a good weekend!

  1. Well done on your first workshop Carole! I'm glad you both enjoyed yourselves - that's what it's all about. Your cards are fabulous!

    I'm about to open a shop with my friend on Monday in Moffat, and we'll be doing craft classes there too :) xx

  2. Congrats to you on doing your first workshop. The cards are lovely and so vibrant, I love lilacs and black together. The first card is really up my street and although I don't really like to choose favourites I think this has to be mine, though I like the second one alot too.
    Hope you have a wonderful time at Ally Pally, say Hi to Sue Wilson for me. I would so love to be there and meet you all and say Hi. Maybe one day we will meet up when Sue is demoing and we can say Hi to her and each other.
    Enjoy and thank you for your support on my blog.
    Best wishes Linda

  3. Hi Carole,
    I don't have the foggiest what happened to my entry above, but is is me Lindyloo (Linda at Creative Harmony).
    Somehow my name has come up as a sign off on one of my posts and the link isn't even to my account. I am going to have to check this out, it's a bit weird. Anyway, here is my comment properly(please delete the above entry);

    1. Hi Linda, yes we were thrilled that it went so well...I prefer the first card, which is Amy's too. I have to admit, I had never used alcho inks before and only had a few hours to play and I just couldn't get away from the deep colours! I wasn't sure what level of crafter was coming and it was my first class, so also wanted to keep it simple and as my group of ladies had never used this either and were quite new to heat embossing, I was glad I'd kept it simple!
