Good Morning Friends,
Thank you very much for visiting my little corner of blogland and leaving your comments, you know I really appreciate them all..and even if you're just stopping by for a peek, thank you!
It's a big day at work today...I'm following up on our very successful social media workshop that we held a month ago, with a social media surgery! It's nothing medical..we have representatives from six community groups and parish councils, coming in for appointments during the day. They will have one to one sessions with our social media expert Paul about how to tweet, blog, Facebook - whatever they want. Yesterday was a particularly bad day..one of those where silly annoying things happened one after another..but today is going to be great, I am totally optimistic!
Back to crafts....I made this card a few weeks ago when I was having a play with some Indigo Blu stamps.
Whilst I had always admired some of the cards made with these stamps, I wasn't sure that I would use them much, so having a chance to play with them was great and actually you know, I have now added this one to my ever increasing stamp wish list! This particular one is 'Juliet'.
I used an A5 card blank and used a piece of matte gold card, embossed with the Sue Wilson Hearts Lattice folder as my base. Then I stamped the image on black card with flitterglu and covered with gilding flakes. The flourish is from Spellbinders Venetian motifs and the flower, the smallest Bitty Blossom. I used Grand Decorative Ovals for the image die cut.
Hopefully some time over the next few weeks I'm going to have a blog revamp. In July I will have been blogging for 2 years, so it's time for a face-lift! I looked back on my first attempts at blogging..goodness I didn't have a clue! LOL
Thanks for checking me out!
Love and Hugs,
Carole X

ReplyDeleteGood morning Carole. It's so nice to hear somebody being enthusiastic about their work. I lways said that when I wasn't excited about my job it was time to give it up. Fortunately that didn't happen - I gave up because I felt it was the right time for a number of reasons. Love what you have done with this card. The stamp is great and I really like the flower and swirl. love from Christine xx
ReplyDeleteHi Carole, I bought this stamp and flakes a couple of weeks ago and have been hesitant about using it. Now I see how beautiful it is done in the flakes I will have to give it a try.

Hi Carole, your 'I didn't have a clue' comment made me smile - it was a year ago for me and I'm not sure I am any the wiser these days!! The image on your card is beautiful but for me it is the way you have mounted and embellished it that is so striking, I love the embossed background and the flourish and flower are just perfect, yuou have such a good eye for detail. A totally stunning card! Hugs, Anne x

Hi Carole
ReplyDeleteHappy Wednesday (though I know it will be).
A gorgeous card and great technique. Love the flower embellishment .. .. it looks great all in the same colour.
Thanks for your lovely comment on my blog. Doing a lucky dip in the Penny Black drawer is always a safe option. Only gorgeous stamps in there!! But I wouldn't risk it in some of my others! LOL!!!
It is great to look back over our blogs and see how we have improved isn't it.
Have a good crafty day.
Love Jules xx
That's is a wonderful image and you've made a beautiful card, Carole! I love how you've done the flourish! I know what you mean about being clueless (heh, I almost wrote glueless!) when starting a blog. Thank goodness, they make it easy for people who just say, "Oh, what does this button do?!" and eventually, by some miracle, a blog happens. At least that's what happened to mine. I hope your day yesterday turned out as positive as your attitude was!!
ReplyDeleteThis is a really beautiful card, I have long admired that stamp and I love what you have created around it. I quite agree with your comments about blogging. I used to struggle to down load the photo's let alone make things right, but such a lot of lovely blog friends, including you, have inspired and encouraged along the way! Cheers Carole! Hugs barb x
