Hi Blog Friends!
Today I am sharing the card we actually finished completely at Sunday's workshop. This Christmas card features paper piecing, using a NOEL stamp by Woodware. It's quite a simple design, but also fun to make and I think it's quite effective. It's certainly one we could complete in our own workshops and of course, other words are available!
The word is stamped on the cream card, along with the sentiment and then four times more on patterned paper in various colours. Then it's as easy as cutting out the letters and piecing them together over the cream stamped card.
Some glitter and glitter domes were added to complete, plus ribbon and gold ink around the edge of the card..we did something with the ribbon I had never tried before: once we had tied the bow, we blasted it with a heat gun, which curled it. The photo doesn't really show it properly, but it was very effective.
The cream card is mounted on kraft card and piece of script paper forms the inside outer edge.
That's it for today, sorry it's so short, but with being on holiday and prepping our workshop on Thursday, I'm rushing about a bit!
Take care and happy crafting all!
Carole X

Hi Carole, this is really beautiful and such a simple idea but it looks so very effective. Thanks for the inspiration. Like the way you finished it off too and that technique with the ribbon. Crafty hugs, Anne x
ReplyDeleteHi Carole - I'm in agreement with Anne above, a simple idea that looks sooo effective and beautiful too. I shall have a go with the ribbon - maybe I will use a bit of spare first because I am a tad accident prone and it could end up as a blob!

Hi Carole,
ReplyDeletewonderful card love the idea. I did wonder how it was done but then you explained, and then I suddenly remembered I have done this with a golfer stamp. I wanted him to have what I would call golfing clothes on so I too stamped the image on some paper that looked like what a golfer would wear. So then he had a different top to his trousers. it's funny how you can forget these things till something reminds you of it. So thanks for the reminder.
Sorry to hear your really busy, especially as you are on holiday.
Have a wonderful crafty evening everyone.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L.
